Now You Can Install IE9 in Windows 7 Without Restarting Your Computer

Whenever you install a new version of Internet Explorer in Windows or install a new update for Internet Explorer in Windows, you need to restart your computer to take effect. Actually Windows needs to replace system files which are currently in use and that's why a system restart is required.

Now Microsoft has released a new update for Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 which allows you to install IE9 or future versions of IE in Windows without restarting.

Here is what the official  KB article says:

In some scenarios, after you install Internet Explorer 9, or a later version of Internet Explorer update from Windows Update or Microsoft Update, you may be prompted to restart your computer. This update reduces the number of scenarios in which a restart is required.
